Anushaktinagar - November-December 2020

Anushaktinagar is a residential area / colony situated near to Mankhurd, suburb of Mumbai. Originally a dense forest area besides the sea creek and bounded by hills on other side was habited by small settlements which were acquired by government to convert to residential place. The buildings are still surrounded by significant number of trees, old as well as planted one. Also place is filled with garden plants and shrubs, making suitable habitat for garden birds such as bulbuls, flycatchers, sunbirds, warblers, barbets etc.

Here are glimpses of some of the avian fauna biodiversity and richness of Anushaktinagar. Captured during November and December month, where the winter migrants (local/global) such as Greenish Warblers, Green warblers, Asian paradise flycatchers, long tailed shrikes, Ashy drongos, chestnut tailed starlings etc. also occupy the habitat along with residential birds like magpie robins, asian koel, greater coucal,  sunbirds, coppersmith barbets, white throated kingfisher, mynas etc.
