Dhule - November 2020

Dhule, being my hometown, I regularly make visit during the festivals and long holidays . And of course explore for bird photography. This is very dry region and becomes very hot during summer times. Water scarcity has been earlier a problem during summer times. However there are lakes around the city built to conserve the water. Nakane is one of the largest lake around the city.

Being a water reservoir it attracts various water birds. It is surrounded small hillocks with sparse vegetation mostly small shrubs and grasses. The lake is about 8 kms from he city centre.

This Dipawali, I explored the area around lake, along the edges to find some of the exciting sightings which included "Long billed Pipit", "Sarkeer Malkoha (couldn't photograph though)" "eurasian wryneck", "Bluethroat", "Common Pochards" "great Cormorant" etc.

I explored the Haranmal road past the ACPM dental college, where towards left side the lake edges are teaming with birds, especially early in the morning. As a golden rule "Early bird catches the worm", early morning is best time to explore and capture birds on camera.
